Absence & Lateness
The school's attendance policy is available for viewing in school. The major points are listed below:
- Parents should contact the school on the first day of absence and provide written confirmation at the end of any absence.
- Failure to communicate a legitimate reason for absence will result in the child's record being marked as an "unauthorised absence".
- Parents are discouraged from taking their children on holiday during school time.
- Parents are asked not to take their child out of school during May when the end of year SATS take place.
Exemption from P.E.
A written note from parents is essential if a child wishes to be excused from games. This can save your child any embarrassment and ensure that no-one is required to take part in any activity which may cause injury.
Pupil Records
Information concerning the pupils and their progress is maintained in Pupil Profile Record Folders and in record cards provided by the LEA, which, in line with LEA policy, are open to inspection by the pupil, parents or guardians, subject to normal conditions. Please give the school notice if you wish to view records in this way so we can plan availability ahead for your convenience.
Information held in the records concerns pupils' work, progress and achievement and is designed to reflect the contribution to the record by the pupil and the input from the teachers.
